Trouble after updating Visual Studio 2015

A project may not be opened after updating Visual Studio 2015 on or after July 22nd, 2016 (Figure 1).

Figure 1

The project can be opened by installing the tools as follows:

First, select menu item File|New|Project (Figure 12).

Figure 2

The New Project dialog window will be presented (Figure 3). Select item Installed|Templates|Visual C++|Windows.

Click on item Install Universal Windows Platform Tools in the center pane, then click the OK button. Installing will start.

After installing, the Solution Explorer pane will appear as Figure 4.

Click on the header file name of the form in the Solution Explorer pane, then the form will be shown by Designer (Figure 5).

Figure 5

In some cases, instead of a form, a page with error messages will be shown. If a page with error messages is shown, delete the page clicking the X sign at the right corner of the tag. Then, try to show the form by clicking the header file name in the Solution Explorer pane. Repeat this process several times until the form will be shown successfully. However, when you fail several times, delete the page with the error message by clicking the X sign at the right corner of the tag, and wait until the access lamp of the disk drive, in that the project files are put, goes out. After the lamp goes out, double click the name of the form in the Solution Explorer pane. The form will be shown successfully by the designer. It seems that Visual Studio needs some time to prepare to display the form.

When the form will not be displayed by double clicking the name of the form after the access lamp goes out, check the installed items. If the necessary items, e.g., Microsoft Foundation Classes for C++, are not installed, you have to install them. Check templates, e.g., the File|New|Project|Installed|Templates|Visual C++|MFC item (Figure 6).
